Our furnace has been custom built to Stoneglass' specifications so that the sintering process can be fully monitored and controlled.  Our furnace has the capability to sinter alumina and Zirconia and to achieve the ideal density for each material. Confidence is assured when sintering multiple units (over 100) at any one time that the furnace will be able to perform the task it is programmed to do. 

After 12 months of initial development the first prototype furnace is still in use today.  This is after three years of commercial use.  Further development has refined the Stoneglass furnace to allow Stoneglass today to sinter over 250 units at any one time. 

The electric laboratory sintering furnace has the following:

• an alumina chamber tube;
• 6 kanthal super heating elements (1800C);
• rotating pedestal with 3 shelves;
• 6 thermo couples;
• Automated 10 program cycle start and finish.
