The main argument in favor of all-ceramic restorations is that a metal framework is no longer necessary. As a result, the often unsightly grayish discoloration in the margin area of the crown will be avoided. In addition, no framework blocks the incident light thus preventing the natural refraction or translucency. Instead of having a depth effect, the metal framework reflects or absorbs the incident light and leads to an unnaturally opaque appearance of the crown or bridge. Compared to traditional metal ceramics, modern all-ceramic systems offer many benefits:

VITABLOCS are available as Mark II, RealLife, TriLuxe, TriLuxe forte and TriLuxe forte for Rapid Layer Technology materials, the latter being exclusively used for the CEREC and inLab System. Using the Sirona CEREC system, with VITABLOCS the dentist is able to prepare the inlay, onlay, veneer or the all-ceramic crown chairside and to incorporate the finished restoration.
The high translucency of VITABLOCS Mark II ceramic in combination with the VITA SYSTEM 3D-MASTER ensures the perfect shade integration into the remaining tooth substance (known as chameleon effect) with the VITA VM 9 ESTHETIC KIT, VITA SHADING PASTE or VITA AKZENT materials the shades in the restorations can additionally be customized and be made aesthetically perfect.
By means of a special production technique VITA has succeeded in imitating the areas differing in color of the natural tooth (enamel, dentine and neck) in the ceramic block already. The different layers in a block ensure the natural appearance of the restoration and make an individualization after milling unnecessary.
With VITABLOCS TriLuxe forte the shade transition from the enamel to the neck is still smoother while at the same time the chroma in the neck area is accentuated. In combination with the growing fluorescence in the cervical area this provides for an impressing shade effect even with thin layers.
CAD – Temp is used for the fabrication of multi-unit, fully or partially anatomical long-term temporary bridges with up to 2 pontics using the Sirona InLab or CEREC systems. The bridge block can also be used for temporary crowns. You can use the light-curing veneering composite VITA VM LC for building up or individualizing the shade of partially anatomical restorations. VITA CAD-Temp composite blocks/discs consist of a fiber-free, homogeneous, high-molecular and cross-linked acrylate polymer with microfiller that is extremely homogeneous due to the industrial polymerization process. The material features a considerably higher strength than conventional composite materials for chairside temporary restorations.
